Fast Facts and Bell Times

History

The patron saint of the school is known for his work as both an evangelist and author of the third Gospel. Luke was a Greek from Antioch; trained as a doctor, but became a promoter of Christianity. This school's name honours the prominent place of St. Luke in our Catholic faith. The school was founded in 1904 in its original location beside the church. It has been located at its current site since 1964 with an addition of a modern section in 1986.

Did you know that...

    • The community of Downeyville is descended from a significant portion of settlers who were part of the Peter Robinson migration from Ireland in 1825. We are proud of our local Irish heritage, and are equally delighted with the arrival of new families, cultures, and traditions.

    • We take pride in the enthusiasm that our students demonstrate within their school and parish community through competition in academics, athletics, and social causes.
